Martin Gabriel began his career with the Ministry of Manpower, as an Inspector enforcing the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act. He gained a valuable understanding of labour regulations in his three years with the Ministry and the experience inspired him to forge a career in Human Resources after leaving the government service. He is also the author of four Human Resource books.
Today, Martin has more than 25 years of experience as an HR practitioner. He is presently the Chairman and Founder of HRmatters21, an online HR interest group and vibrant forum where HR issues are discussed. He leads an HR community of over 3,000 members and provides regular HR-related advice and consultancy services to hundreds of companies in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia as a Senior HR Consultant/Advisor. He is also actively involved in the growth and development of HR in Singapore.
Martin’s experience also includes training. To date, over 6,200 HR personnel and managers from non-HR functions have attended his training programmes.
Martin holds a Bachelor of Commerce with a double major from the University of Tasmania and a Diploma in HRM.

TOMMY TAN has more than 18 years of extensive regional experience developing and managing HR strategy and programs for sustainable performance improvements. Highly successful, entrepreneurial and innovative approach to major HR activities. His key areas of expertise covering selection systems, employee and leadership development, performance management, and employee learning and development.

Tommy is an active Facilitator; Coach and his expertise is in creating service & learning cultures in organizations and measuring the impact of learning and performance improvement interventions. In the area of consulting, Tommy is instrumental in forging business partnerships with HR/Business stakeholders and has vast experience in developing and implementing solutions for Service Leadership Development, Service Values Alignment, and Competency Mapping for Service Excellence Framework and Team Bonding across industries.

Tommy specialises in designed selection systems, talent development processes for leaders and individual contributors, and performance management practices for talent development and organizational effectiveness. He has designed and conducted thorough investigation and analysis of activities to determine critical factors that determine success in jobs from the executive level through individual contributor that involved interviews and focus group sessions. Included behaviours, skills, motivations, and personality characteristics individuals should have in order to be successful in a specific job.
